  • When should it be used?

What is the AUTOMADE Central Repository?

The Central Repository is a database of macros available to all users of a company, team or organization. Its macros can be played by any user assigned to the group. In addition, any user of the robot (except for the DESKTOP version) can upload a macro they have created to the Repository. You can read about how to add macro the in the Repository in the article “How to publish macros in the Central Repository?”.

The macro provided by the user can be assigned to all persons in the company or only to selected teams – e.g. limited to the finance, HR or accounting department. The AUTOMADE HUB is used to manage macros made available in the Central Repository. You can read more about the HUB in the article “What is the AUTOMADE HUB?”

What is the Central Repository used for?

The purpose of the Central Repository is to make sharing macros between employees in an organisation as easy as possible. Employees in companies and organizations using business process automation often use the same tools and perform similar tasks. The Central Repository ensures that tested macros are freely shared between employees and teams.

When should it be used?

Whenever many people in an organisation need similar solutions. The user sends the prepared and validated macro to the Repository, after which it must be assigned to the appropriate group. A group may be, for example, a company department or a project group. Once assigned, the macro will be available to users of the given group in the list of macros in the Central Repository section.

Example:

There are 5 people in the finance department of a company who are struggling with the problem of time-consuming PDF filling. One of them uses the AUTOMADE robot to create a macro which automates the process and then makes it available in the Central Repository. The administrator accepts the uploaded macro and assigns it to the “Finance Department” group. Once assigned, other employees will automatically have access to the macro in their robot and will be able to use it.

We describe the process of creating such a macro in the article “How to record a macro using a PDF file?”.
